Here is a Math class update:
After the Cumulative 1-5 test that the students will take this coming Monday (Jan. 14th), we will be starting the 4B books! We are all excited to dig into some fresh textbooks and workbooks. :)
This week, the students will be introduced to decimals. Specifically, we will zero-in on the tenths place and the hundreths place. To help illustrate these place values and the overall concept of decimals, manipulatives will be used to assist in the learning process. These include place value charts, fractional pieces, and fake money. There will be a short quiz on Thursday, January 17th. This will assess the students' knowledge of only the tenths place. The hundreths place will be included in tests that occur later in the unit. I cannot wait to further investigate the new concepts included in the 4B books!
