8-16-12

Welcome parents and students!

My name is Ms. Wheeler and I am teaching one of the sections of 4A and 4B Singapore Math. With nearly two weeks of school under our belts, I am happy to report that Math class is off and running! So far, we have spent some time in review of older concepts, while still incorporating bits of new material that will increase the strength of this foundational base. With the right base, I am positive that this class will experience success this 2012-2013 school year!

Last week was focused on place values, digits, and representations of numbers, and this week has been largely focused on the computation of various number forms. Our first quiz of the year will cover aspects of these different categories and will be administered on Friday, August 17th. Preparation for this test would include (but would not be limited to!): reviewing graded homework and correcting errors, reviewing place values, reviewing the difference between digits and the value of digits, practicing writing numbers in different forms, and practicing the computation of various representations of numbers.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you find this blog to be a useful resource in staying up-to-date with this 4A Math class.

Ms. Wheeler
